Pneu vélo ancien 700A BERGOUGNAN 700x32A 32 642 700A Gris (blanc) Rouge Moule

The first model is now in production!

Our aim is to offer you a wide selection of tires for all types of vintage bikes, from 1895 to 1960. But before we get there, we need to start with a project!

Since we don't make our own tires, we were very careful to find the best possible subcontractor. To find the best factory, we challenged tire manufacturers around the world with our most complicated tire model! This enabled us to find the best industrial partner, the only one capable of manufacturing our tires to our exact specifications! With this partner, we can be sure of launching other models quickly and easily.

This first model, which will soon be available, is Le Gaulois BERGOUGNAN, an emblematic model of the brand that will turn your old bike to a masterpiece! Originally available in a wide range of sizes, we've launched this model in just one size: ETRTO 32-642 (700x32A – 28 x 1-1/4)

1 – Why did we choose this model?

With its marking all around the tread, this model was the flagship for the Établissements BERGOUGNAN during the 1910-1925 period.

2 – Why did we choose this size?

Whether from BERGOUGNAN or other manufacturers, the 642mm tires was available in three widths: 28, 32 and 35mm. The 28mm was reserved for racing bikes, and the 35 for touring bikes. The 32mm, on the other hand, is a perfect compromise that suits all kinds of bikes.

3 – Et qu’en est-il des coloris ?

No black tires were available until the late 1920s! Tires have been grey since the 1890s. Then red appeared, and finally white. This tire model was first available in gray from BERGOUGNAN, then in red.

Once again, this helped us to select the best manufacturer, as the majority were unable to meet our color requirements.
